Born on April 30, 1991, in Houston, Texas, Jacques Bermon Webster II, also known as Travis Scott, spent his early years from one to six with his grandmother in the South Park neighborhood, known for its challenges and impact on his perspective. Witnessing the struggles of the area, he felt a determination to escape that environment. Moving to the suburban area of Missouri City to live with his parents, who had more stable lives, provided a change.
His mother worked for Apple, his father ran his own business, and he came from a musical background with a soul musician father and a jazz composer grandfather. While attending Elkins High School and engaging in musical theater, he felt the pull of his true passion for music. Later, he briefly attended the University of Texas at San Antonio but dropped out during his second year to fully pursue his music career.
